Waterfall and the Utah Arts Festival

So I had a lot of fun doing the waterfall I posted a few days ago so I wanted to try doing another one but this time with more detail.  I used a couple of photos that I took up Provo canyon for references.  Utah may not be a perfect place but I do love how close we live to so much natural beauty.  I love being outside in nature, that's probably why I love doing these environment pieces so much.  While I work on them I almost feel as if I am in that place, it gives me a chance to travel and see beautiful things I wouldn't have had the chance to see otherwise.  Especially since most of these places I paint don't exist.

Speaking of beautiful things, this weekend from the 21st to the 24th is the Utah Arts Festival in Salt Lake City.  Tickets are only $10 for adults and kids under 12 are free, or if you want to go all four days you can get the four day pass for only $30.  I'm planning on going at least one of the days so maybe I'll see some of you there!  UAF Website
