So today I wanted to play around more with sky effects. I've always wanted to see the northern lights, and since, as of yet, I haven't been able to go in person I decided to paint this. The term
aurora borealis actually comes from the Greek goddess Aurora, the goddess of dawn, and the Greek word for northern wind. On wikipedia (hey this isn't an official paper or anything so I'm allowed to use wikipedia) there is some more information about this amazing natural phenomenon as well as some cool videos taken from the International Space Station that show what an aurora looks like from space.
