So the weather in Utah is always...unpredictable at best, especially in spring. Some days it gets up to 80 degrees and other days it is snowing. So this weekend, since my wife and I had some free time and it was finally warmish we decided to get out of the house and take a walk. We went up to Rock Canyon, which is pretty close to our house. If you haven't been and you live near Provo you should go, it's really pretty up there. Anyways since it's still really early spring there was little to no green anywhere. Almost all of the plants we saw were scrub oak and none of them were even budding yet. But near the mouth of the canyon, mixed in with all the gnarly scrub oak we found this one random little tree full of pink flowers. It was a very encouraging sign and I liked the contrast between the soft, delicate flower and the gnarled, mossy scrub oak.
I'm actually thinking of doing a bunch of different flower pieces and having them ready to sell by Mother's Day. I thought they could make a nice Mother's Day present, what do you guys think? What flowers would you like to see me do? (yes, that means I'd like you to comment...please...)
This is a really awesome picture. My favorite flowers are daisys :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite are those white ones that were in my bouquet. I wish I knew what they were called.... I LOVE this flower that you did though! I just love the way that the black paper makes the colors pop. You have a really great eye for detail too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments! I'll try and get some of your favorites in the next entries.
ReplyDeleteThat is really awesome I like how well the flower is framed in with the moss covered tree. I really like snapdragons actually. They are unusual.
